About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Yacht-Club Großenbrode e.V. (YCG) lies in an artificially created lake on the southern edge of the Baltic seaside resort of Großenbrode on the Wagrian peninsula, opposite the island of Fehmarn. The marina is reached via a short channel from the open Baltic Sea, and the lake has a depth of 2.20 metres, providing a wind- and swell-protected berth away from busy marinas.
From here you can sail to several destinations: the harbours of Lübecker and Wismarer Bay as well as Kühlungsborn (30 nm) and Warnemünde Hohe-Düne (40 nm), while Bagenkop (40 nm) or Gedser (40 nm) can also be reached in a day. A circumnavigation of Fehmarn takes about 10 hours sailing and covers roughly 40 nautical miles round trip - this tour is sailed every year as the club regatta.
At the marina you can borrow one of the club's bicycles free of charge, and there is free access to a wifi hotspot. By the water there is a lovely barbecue area, and you can also use the lower part of the beautiful clubhouse.
Just 2 km away is the town of Großenbrode, offering shops, restaurants and a beach with surfing, diving, jet-ski and water-skiing. The tourist centre of Heiligenhafen lies 6 km away with a bus connection and further leisure attractions; both towns have boatyards and chandleries. Berth in the sheltered lake, borrow a club bicycle and cycle into Großenbrode's historic town centre.
