About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Bijko Jachthaven is located on the Van Harinxmakanaal in Harlingen, the only Frisian harbour town with an open connection to the North Sea. The cosy family marina has about 40 permanent berths for motor and sailing yachts, offering a sheltered harbour with a draught of up to 2 metres.
The marina is within walking distance of Harlingen's historic town centre and less than three kilometres from the Wadden Sea, making it a good starting point for trips to the Wadden Islands, the Frisian lakes or the IJsselmeer.
Bijko Jachtservice has a 20-tonne boat lift/crane for hauling boats in and out of the water, as well as slipways for yard work. The workshop offers repair and maintenance of boats, including steelwork and polyester repairs, engine repairs and technical installations, and also provides an emergency service in case of breakdown or damage en route.
Berth in the sheltered harbour on the Van Harinxmakanaal and walk the short distance into Harlingen's historic centre, or make use of Bijko's workshop and crane if your boat needs servicing.
