About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Harald's Harbour is not a proper marina, but a small historic mole/slipway on Bornholm's steep east coast, between Saltuna and Bølshavn, close to the small area of Ypnasted between Gudhjem and Svaneke. The place is named after the fisherman Harald Hansen, and although there was never much fishing activity here, the harbour carries a dramatic history.
During World War II, Harald's Harbour was used by the Danish resistance movement, which sent refugees to Sweden and received weapons shipments from here – the site's remote location meant it was never discovered by the occupying forces.
The mole lies along Bornholm's coastal path, the 120 km hiking route around the island, and is passed by hikers on the stretch between Gudhjem and Svaneke. Nearby, there is a small parking area in Ypnasted, from where you can walk down to both Harald's Harbour and the small harbour in Ypnasted. Be aware that much of the area around the mole is private, so please respect signage on site.
