About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Svaneke Harbour is a small, cosy marina blasted out of the rock on Bornholm's east coast, in the heart of the "town of sunshine" Svaneke, which still supports an active commercial fishery.
Visiting yachters are welcome throughout the harbour, and capacity was increased in 2011 with an extra breakwater, giving good shelter even in onshore winds. The approach is guided by Svaneke Lighthouse and the leading lights on a course of 297°, and note that the gate between the outer and inner harbour closes in onshore gales. The harbour office also houses the town's tourist information. For longer stays - such as 8-13 or 14 nights - you can earn free extra nights across the municipality's harbours.
Shore power and fresh water are available on the quays, and the harbour offers toilets, showers and a washing machine. Pump-out, bike rental and a slipway are also available. Close to the quay you'll find a grocery shop and restaurants, and the town also has cafés.
Between the new and old breakwaters lies a bathing area with a 1-2-3 metre diving platform. South of the harbour there's a small sandy beach with a diving board. You can walk around the whole of Svaneke in under an hour, discovering local produce such as sweets, ice cream and the world-famous Svaneke Beer, plus galleries, a puppet theatre and the Utzon water tower. Come and enjoy the calm of the sunshine town after a day on the water.
