About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Vang Harbour lies on Bornholm's north-west coast and is an atmospheric granite harbour surrounded by cliffs and dramatic scenery. The harbour is a small former fishing port originally built as a shipping port for granite from the nearby quarries in Ringebakkerne, and the harbour itself has three basins.
New wooden jetties have been built in the two southernmost basins, where there is always space for visiting yachters, while the innermost basin is reserved for local boat owners. The harbour is safe in all wind directions, and in good weather schooners up to thirty metres long still visit.
At the harbour you'll find toilets, showers, water and electricity (230V) on the jetties, as well as a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. A barbecuing shelter close to the toilets and bathing facility is available to guest sailors, and there is also a playground and free WiFi. The summer shop Bixen sells groceries and fresh bread, offers bike rental, and diesel can be bought in limited quantities. A slipway for launching boats is also available.
A short walk from the harbour reveals the granite industry's history through exhibitions and monuments around the waterfront, a small sandy beach with a diving platform at Vang Pier south of the village, and hiking trails through the Slotslyngen and Ringebakkerne nature areas with their abandoned quarries. Bornholm's only preserved overshot waterwheel mill and the Pissebækken waterfall are also nearby.
